(Air Quality Registration Program)
What is the purpose of this program?

Information collected through the registration program is used to evaluate the effectiveness of air pollution control strategies and to verify source compliance with applicable air pollution regulations.

Who issues this program?

What activities require this program?

A source which is listed under the source classification list in Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 173-400-100 and operates in Washington State.

How much will this program cost?

Sources pay an annual fee based on how much they pollute. For specific information about registration fees, go to Ecology’s Air Quality Registration webpage: http://www.ecology.wa.gov/Regulations-Permits/Reporting-requirements/Air-quality-emissions-reporting/Air-quality-registration

Do I need to include anything with my application?

Contact the appropriate Ecology region or local air authority to determine the forms required by your facility type.

Is the decision on my program dependent on anything besides the information in my application?

When making the decision on your registration, Ecology will consider the applicable laws and rules, the contents of your emissions inventory forms, and the background environmental conditions.

How long will it take to review my application?

Processing time will depend on the completeness of the forms and at what point in the cycle the forms are received. Please contact the appropriate Ecology region or local clean air agency for help.

Where do I submit my application?

See notes/comments below.

How long is my program valid?

Once a business is registered, it will remain in the program until it closes or is removed by regulatory change.

What is the appeal process for the program?

If you believe your facility was misclassified under WAC 173-400-100, please contact the appropriate region.
