Transportation Permit Efficiency & Accountability Committee

From 2001 to 2006, The Transportation Permit Efficiency and Accountability Committee (TPEAC) worked to improve the environmental permitting process for Washington State Department of Transportation projects.

Convened by the Washington State Legislature, TPEAC brought together state legislators, state and local agencies, city, county and business associations, the construction industry, and environmental, Tribal, and labor interests. The tools, processes, and “new ways of doing business” developed and advanced by TPEAC and its subcommittees, task forces, and individual members reflect one of the lasting values of the TPEAC experience.

The Governor's Office of Regulatory Assistance continues to champion the work done by TPEAC and its members to increase regulatory predictability, bring about more efficient use of governmental regulatory resources and achieve greater and more effective environmental and natural resource protection outcomes.
